And Sew On....Part 2

Spent most of the day yesterday getting my pattern cut out and embroidering the panels for the front. Looking good so far. I certainly didn't buy too much fabric, I was sweating whether I was going to get it all out of the 2 yards I bought. I only have little inch scraps left. Next time I'll make sure I get 2 1/2 yards for a jacket. Need to make sure I don't mess anything up or I'll have to go and get more.

  1. This is going to be a very, very pretty. I'll have to check back to see your progress. I think it's terrific that someone actually owns the 830 that I've only seen at the Bernina dealer, and at the quilt show :) I found my way to your blog by way of your comment on the 'Blog contest'. I wanted to ask you on the use of the #10 foot for st-n-dtch quilting. Do you think it would also work for quilting around applique shapes? I would be using a batting like Quilter's Dream or Warm and Natural.

  2. Thanks. I've kind of gotten sidetracked on finishing the construction due to work, but hope to get back on it and post an update this weekend.

I haven't used the #10 foot for applique, but it would work I think as long as the shapes were pretty simple. Probably wouldn't work for making a lot of turns or sharp curves. There is a blade that runs down the middle that would interfere, I think, with doing that. I'll have to give it a try and see how it works.
